Photodynamic Therapy (Levulan)

Photodynamic Therapy is a treatment that both medical and cosmetic patients are enjoying today. Patients will experience textural improvements, pore minimization, and enhanced reduction of brown and red pigmentation that is evident in sun damaged skin.

How is it done?

The skin is prepared by removing dead skin and all oil so we can have optimal results. The solution (Levulan) is applied topically (directly onto the skin).There is a wait period where the Levulan is converted to a potent photosensitiser in the skin. We activate the solution then with the BLU-U or laser. This procedure improves acne by targeting and shrinking the sebaceous glands and killing bacteria.

Recovery:

The first 2 days you will feel a burning sensation and stinging. You will peel and will be red for 7 days. Stay away from direct sunlight for 24-48 hours and wear a SPF 30 at all times for the fist week. All post care will be discussed and given to you after the treatment.
