IPL/ Laser Hair Removal

Fast and comfortable treatments for permanent hair reduction. Hair has to be dark blonde to black in color, as the light is absorbed by the pigment of the hair, and converted to heat which disables the stem cells that produces hair. For best results:

• Any skin color can be treated
• Hair has to be dark blond to black
• No tanning or self tanners 14 days before treatment.
• Hair has to be in the skin to be treated. No waxing, plucking or electrolysis 4 weeks before treatment and throughout course of treatments. Hair can be shaved or cut.

Treatment intervals:

• Facial hair – every 4-6 weeks
• Body hair- every 6-8 week

What to expect after a treatment

Some mild redness and heat in the area for approximately 30 minutes. Hair will fall out about 10-14 days after treatment.

How does it work?

IPL and lasers target melanin (color) in the hair. In the active growth cycle of hair (about 10-15%) the heat reaches the root and stem cells in the follicle and disables them. The other hair will be stunned but will grow back. That is why on average 6-8 treatments will be required for 70-90% hair loss. The amount of treatments will be influenced by amount of hair, skin color and regularity of treatments.

Facial hair can be stimulated by hormones or other problems like thyroid, high testosterone levels, cystic ovaries, pregnancy etc. There are 10% of people that do not respond to laser hair removal for unknown reasons. Your technician will be able to answer all questions for you.

Is laser effective for blond or white hair?

No, because the heat cannot reach the root and stem cells, these hairs will be stunned but will come back. All laser that are targeting melanin will NOT be effective on blond or white hair.
