Acne Treatments

There are a variety of treatments for acne and acne scarring. First we have to see your skin, and asses the previous treatments that you have tried, like prescription creams, products etc. Dr Duvel will formulate a plan for you and we will discuss all the options with you. We will see you on a monthly basis to clear up your skin and scarring.

BLU-U Blue light Therapy

There are many treatments for mild to moderate acne. The BLU-U is a special blue light that can kill the p. acnes bacteria in your skin. Treatments are simple – you simply sit with you face close to the blue light for 15-30 minutes once or twice per week. Usually for 6-8 weeks. The treatment is safe even for pregnant woman. There are no side effects.

How does it work?

The BLU-U was cleared by the FDA in 2003 for the treatment of moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris

The Blu U is a special blue light that kills the p. acnes bacteria in your skin. This is a great treatment with no side effects for moderate acne. A 15-30 minute session once or twice a week for 6-8 weeks can help control your acne.
